Our History

After 15 years of production under the ownership of Ralph and Sharon Bredl as “Harmony Specialty Dairy Foods, LLC,” operations are now under the management of Dairyland Trading, LLC, who gave the plant the new name of "Harmony Cheese, LLC." Dairyland Trading is a cheese broker company that specializes in the buying and selling of wholesale cheese. We are dedicated to providing all customers of both Harmony Cheese and Dairyland Trading high-quality, great-tasting cheese. The Dairyland Team, who has over 100 years of combined experience in the cheese industry, recognizes the same potential in this plant as the Bredl's did years ago. Dairyland Trading strives to continue the tradition of providing high-quality, high-value specialty cheeses with superior taste and consistency. Our Licensed Cheesemaker, Al Graveen, will continue crafting the same delicious, quality cheese that Harmony's customers know and love.

The cheese plant currently operating as Harmony Cheese, LLC (Edgar, WI) was first established in 1927 by a group of local dairymen. Originally known as the "Dvorak Plant", the plant was purchased by Marathon Cheese Corporation in 1969 and renamed the "Cloverbelt Plant." After its closure in March 2007, Ralph and Sharon Bredl, along with their daughter (4th and 5th generation dairy farmers), saw the potential and opportunity this plant provided for them to add value to the milk produced on their Stratford dairy farm. "Harmony Specialty Dairy Foods, LLC" was now in business, and the first vat of high quality, handcrafted specialty cheese was produced.
